In another case, a young man was bashing badly on how traditional 1-to-group training wastes people’s time and fails to produce results in the corporate world - some specific situations.
I actually thought he made some sense.
To avoid getting too much from a sheer complainer, I listened to more of his content. In the end, I was ‘educated’ by more good knowledge he shared.
Generation Z are taking more and more share of the workforce.
They grew up with the explosion of information from the development of computer technology. Now they are among the earliest adopters of AI techniques, some were initiators actually!
On the other side, had the elders’ experiences and knowledge been properly collected and put to good use?
Social media’s rapid and wide permeation in people’s personal and working lives is something we have to acknowledge and consider how they have primed up people’s minds, then work out corresponding training programs that interest people of different ages, the ones that they would feel inspired, be willing to apply, and willing to participate to contribute.
Instead of giving the knowledge WE think is good, we might step back to evaluate:
• Is the planned content really necessary and useful to the RECEIVERS?
• Is the training leading to positive enduring results, that shall benefit the company’s ongoing operations?
• How do we deliver the training to generate that result as intended?
A company if is meant to operate for as many decades as it can, building up that staying-current and sound corporate knowledge bank is necessary, for the company to stand against people’s come and go, technology’s elimination one by another and the gusts of economic turbulence.
Camel’s work involves 2 big areas with people at clients.
❶ To bring good changes to supply chain/operations, and get buy-ins to apply them across
❷ To leave the ‘fishing’ - the ways of the better supply chain, as part of clients’ internalised knowledge for its ongoing running
We have the same intention and interests as business owners/senior leaders to achieve results and to make them sustain.
