Some macro data around Australian manufacturing and economics

Last Friday, had a quick visit to the APPEX exhibition.

A very nicely hosted event, where we snatched some chocolates….which was the best part. - kidding 😉.

The exhibition’s theme is ‘Sustainability, Efficiency & Automation for Australian Manufacturers. ‘

I think the theme is great.

Like ‘we are what we eat’, the sustainability and efficiency of the tools and materials a company uses, feed into the features of the company’s final products.

The choices not only impact the dollar figures but also influence a company’s branding and long-term competitiveness.

If I were a rural product's manufacturer or exporter, I’d get big benefits from the visit.

Most of us know mining and rural are 2 big sectors in Australia.

How big and what do things look like generally?

The following charts can give a clearer idea.

Import, export, and domestic making/consumption constitute the main economic streams around us.

The dynamics might give us opportunities and solutions (also issues and risks unfortunately, with wrong choices and inadequate management).
