The Supply Chain That Matters

- Making the Core Solid

Supply chain is a broad term.

The global shipping line network, parcel deliveries, cold chain, other industries' supply chain, other companies'…

The term is so wild, even I hoped to ignore it sometimes.

Yet we cannot ignore the company’s internal supply chain handlings and all the suppliers/contractors we rely on for making the products to customers.

From planning, sourcing, all the way to delivery, including the reverse supply chain, this is where Camel focuses on assisting our clients to achieve efficiency, cost effectiveness, sustainability and long-term agility.

Weak internal operation was one of the big reasons, many companies were so vulnerable, that they could not survive the supply chain disruptions during the pandemic.

It’s bad luck. Yet for some, it’s not just bad luck.

As a chunk of the whole business model, supply chain goes far beyond buy-store-deliver.  Even ‘buy-store-deliver’, there are good ways and not so good ones….

When a storm is gone, it’s time to build up the fortress, right?

If we don’t take chances…

P.S. Attached are 2 McKinsey charts illustrating the occurrence patterns of supply chain shocks and their financial impacts.
