Why supply chain issues need to be addressed properly, ASAP

For a leaking house, the property expert or the handyman got the responsibility to explain well to the unfortunate house owner that,
If leaving the leakage unfixed, in the end, the dampness and water shall erode the house structure which could pull down the whole roof or the house!
If anyone of us were the house owner, guess 100%, none will be settled with just buckets or umbrellas to ‘address’ the issue! Even if there’s an upfront cost win of $30 over $1000.
In the actual business environment, supply chain or ordering, shipping, stock and sometimes even manufacturing may assume easy looks, which lead us to think,
“They worked before… “
“It seems not that ideal, yet It’s as it is. “
“It’s mostly this bad economy and weather.
We’ve got buckets in place to avoid flooding in the house.
It worked! The buckets’ costs were good! “
To distinguish if a solution is a good roof fix or just some buckets, we need to be able to tell like a house owner.
We know, the water leaked in a business, could be:
Profits, credibility, competitive advantage, business opportunities, gradually the culture and morale. Eventually, if it's not stopped and turned around, it's leading to the collapse of the business itself.
In some business models like wholesalers, manufacturers and EPC companies as that in the construction industry, supply chain accounts for up to 85% of COGS, which is not a small piece of 'pipework', that is subject to leakage.
We take on the social responsibility to explain the situation and to solve as many leakages.
But we have an issue that needs help too. 😰
We are trying hard to locate the 'houses' that require fixing. And we are a bit slow on this.
To help us, so we can help to get it fixed earlier possible for you, please reach out, if it's leaking!

P.S. In most situations, weak supply chain won't be the only reason for the dropping of profits. Yet fixing it alone, could already spare hundreds' thousands of unnecessary costs a year, in a typical 200 people business with outdated SC operations.
And effective supply chain could influence positively the improvement of other functions too, as SC in many industries, constitutes and overlaps big areas of a company's entire value chain.
